The
League of One!
An Indian Chief gathered all the leaders
of 9 tribes together and their braves to explain the importance of Unity.
The leaders and braves sat around the Chief and the meeting began with the
Chief lifting 9 Arrows tightly bound together into the air and shouting,
"We Must Stay United". He explained "These Arrows represent our people
united".
The Chief took one arrow from the butch
and twisted it, and then easily snapped it with his hands. He said, "Alone,
like that single arrow, we are twisted and snapped easily". The Chief took
the remaining 8 arrows which were tightly bound together and held them in
the air. Then he twisted, bent, and repeatedly tried to snap the arrows bound
together over his knee. The Chief used all his power and different types
of leverage but he could not break the arrows. The Chief told his people,
"United, We Are Unbreakable." "We Cannot Be Broken, Twisted, Or Snapped As
Long As We Remain United." Whatever Divides Apart, Separates. Whatever
Joins Together, Unites!
